PRETTY IN A BOTTLE

I have NEVER understood the love of canning......until now!! My Dad has 2 apple trees, and got about a million apples this year and when he showed up at my door with a HUGE box that was over flowing...I had no choice but to dive in, and now I am a huge fan! We now have enough apple butter and apple pie filling to last us through the winter. All of you canners would probably agree that there is a great feeling of excitement and satisfaction that comes from hearing the lids pop!! (CRAZY, but so true!) So I am here to encourage everyone to try it. I would be happy to help :)
Aren't they pretty??

Halloween Fun

As always...Halloween was such a crazy day!! Addi had a blast dressing up and Paisley was not so happy about it (poor little thing)! When I started asking Addi what she wanted to dress up as, she immediately told me she wanted to be a Deer. A Deer? REALLY? I tried and tried to talk her into being a Witch or a Princess (What 4 year old doesn't want to be a princess?), but every time, she said she was going to be a Deer (way to make dad proud, Addi! You are awesome!). Finally I gave in and my mom made this ADORABLE Deer costume...

Paisley had no choice! We had a bunny costume so that is what she got to be. She was so mad at me for putting her in the costume, and she had a hard time crawling in it...I think it threw off her balance! She was so funny! So I guess you could say they went as Bambi and Thumper! Her cousin was also a bunny...they looked so cute :)

And here is the Family.....

Hope you all a great Halloween!!

The last month

I guess its been a while since I posted!! Life has been so crazy and full of surprises lately. Most of you probably know by now that one of the biggest changes in our lives since my last post is that Nate got laid off the first part of September. His company laid off about 56 out of the 70 people that worked there...so it was kind of hard to escape that. So we have joined many other people in the hunt for a new job! SO EXCITING!! (NOT!!) We are looking all over Utah, willing to move to wherever we can find work. We know that the Lord is watching out for us though, and we are so grateful for those who have helped us out in any way they can.

The rest of my post is fun stuff!! We just Celebrated our Beautiful Addi's birthday. She is now a whoppin 4 years old! AAAHH!!! I have a 4 year old! I still feel way too young to have a 4 year old :) . She is so much fun! Never did I dream that I would have a child with so much personality. Almost everyone that meets her tells me how she just brightens up the room, and you can't help but smile and feel so happy when you are talking to her. She makes friends wherever we go...whether it be out on a walk, or at the grocery store! She has taught us so much and fills our lives with so much joy and love. WE LOVE YOU ADDI!
Here are a few pics of her Birthday...We took her miniature golfing....
Her Ladybug cake...

As always...she was showered with some very fun gifts!! She got this vanity from Grandma and Grandpa Terry, and since that night I have given up on doing my hair because she insists that she do it...several times a day...in fact don't be surprised if you show up at my door, and I have VERY wet hair, with curlers in it. I am pretty sure her appointment book is open if any of you are looking for a new hair dresser!! (hint, hint....GRANDMA TERRY, maybe?!!

Just a few more pictures of some fun stuff....We took a ride on the Heber Valley Railroad. Both of the girls had a blast. I am pretty sure that Paisley prefers to travel by train. It was the longest ride we have been on without any crying!! The scenery was beautiful!

Sad day...

A little over a week ago, Nate and I went out to shoot some photos of our girls. When we got back home, I went to put them on the computer, and NOTHING...our hard drive had crashed on us, which means all of those priceless pictures that have been sitting on our computer are gone!! The next couple of days were the saddest days ever! I cried for two days straight. Nate was so sweet...he told me he was going to take me out to a movie (Time Travelers Wife), but I knew it would be a crying movie, and as bad as I want to see it, I was all cried out, so we went to dinner instead. (I love you babe!) All of Paisleys baby pictures were on there. We seriously haven't developed one picture of her yet. So our hard drive is being tested on a few programs, and we are hoping and PRAYING they can get the pictures back. There were so many pictures I loved!! So, anyone who has a digital camera, and takes pictures and puts them on their computer, I don't want you to learn the hard way...back them up!!! From now on I will be backing all of our photos up as many ways as I can think of! I did have some cute pictures to post...but that won't be happening now, unless by some miracle they find them.

Sour Faces

A few weeks ago I was cooking with some Limes, and Addi just couldn't resist them....

I just had to share these because they make me laugh every time I look at them!

Fathers Day

This Fathers Day I feel extremely grateful for the fathers that have been in my life. How blessed I have been to have so many great men in my life. I have always been surrounded by so many great examples who have taught me so much.
I am so thankful to my father for showing me how to work and how to be thankful for what I have, even if it isn't much. I remember him teaching me so many things...sometimes the hard way...but always in a way that was best for me, and some of those things I am just now realizing and growing to appreciate. Thanks Dad, for all of the talks...for all of the advice, and concern you have had for me. Thank you for all of the laughs, the foot rubs you gave me in the middle of the night because my feet would ache so bad I couldn't sleep, and for always letting me know that you believed in me. I am especially grateful for the fun and loving Grandpa you are. I love watching you with my girls, and seeing them light up when they get to play with you. Thanks for everything! I love you.

I am also thankful for my Father-in-law. He has also been a great example to me. He has always shown how important his family is to him. I have seen him sacrifice many things for his family. I know that he always tries to be there for any of his children...no matter what it may be, he makes it known that he is willing to help. He has dropped many things to come to our rescue when we have needed him. He, too, is one of the worlds greatest Grandpas!! The girls love him so very much. I am thankful for the things he has taught, and will teach them. Thank you, Mark!! I am especially thankful to him for teaching Nate so many great things...(including how to be a fix-it man!!)...which leads me to...

My sweet, adorable husband!! What a FABULOUS Father he has been to our two beautiful girls. I am so thankful for the way he teaches them with so much love. I am so blessed to have a husband who honors his priesthood and who's testimony shines through him, and uses it to teach our girls the gospel. Thank you, sweetheart for being there for them, playing with them, making them laugh and being there to wipe their tears. Thank you for your patience and your kindness. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories, and for continuing to put up with me. You are a great Dad, and I can't wait to see your relationships grow with our girls. There is nothing more precious than watching them watch you, watching you take naps with them, or giving them hugs and kisses. Nothing makes my heart happier! I am so excited to continue on our journey together...with our beautiful children...into eternity. I love you!!

Back in the game...I think...

WOW! It has been forever!! I don't know how many times I have told myself that I need to update our blog. I don't know how all of you moms keep up on it so regularly. I have to admit, I was a little freaked out by all of the "blogging gone bad" stories..and still might be a little...so I will probably be going private in a few weeks. SO...(you know the drill...Just email me if you want to be on my list :) ). I will work on getting some pictures up. We are also working on Nate's Photography page. Things have started picking up with that and he is taking some awesome pictures!! He has 2 weddings he is shooting this month, so we hope to keep up the pace. He has such a love for photography and has amazing talent with it. So if any of you need a photographer..you really should give him a try..or help spread the word. We will let you know when the website is up and running! For now, at least I have somewhat updated our blog. Pictures will be up in a couple of days....or weeks...we'll see!
