Addi's Birthday

In the middle of our Fall activities, we also celebrated Addi's 3rd Birthday. When everyone tells you how fast they grow up, I think that they mean EXTREMELY fast. I can't believe that my baby is 3!! It is crazy and hard to imagine what life was like before this beautiful little spirit came into our lives. To be a parent is such an amazing gift and blessing. I am so grateful to have Addi part of our family. She has taught us so much, and helped us to enjoy the "little" and simple things in life again.

She had a busy, but fun day that ended with our families in our home, celebrating her big day.

One of the funniest moments of the night was when she opened a gift from Nate and I. (But first I should say that we had just barely finished painting Addi's new bedroom, so she was used to seeing paint cans around the house...and was constantly wanting to help us paint.) We got her a big can of Tinker Toys. As soon as she finished opening the gift, she got SO excited. She had the biggest smile on her face, and then just started laughing. Then she looked up at everyone and said "It's paint!!" It was so funny! All she needs is a little bit of paint to make her happy!

Fall Adventures

AGAIN, it has been a while since I have posted anything. We have had a very busy fall! It is my very favorite time of year, and I can't believe it is almost over! I have to admit, though, that as we move on to Thanksgiving and Christmas, I am quickly getting caught up in the spirit of the season! Yes, I have even turned the radio on to nonstop Christmas music... and I have popped in a couple of Christmas movies...and I am loving it!

Here are a few pictures of some Fall activities we have been doing....

This is at Thanksgiving point's Cornbelly's Corn Maze. We went the weekend that it opened, and got in for $1 a person (normally $10/person). Addi and her cousins played in a pile of corn, and came out a little dusty! Definetly worth $3 of entertainment...

Here is the Pumpkin patch...Addi had so much fun picking her very own pumpkin.

Here we are carving the pumpkins. Addi wasn't sure how she felt about cleaning them out. She wanted to do it, but wasn't so sure about the stuff that was getting all over her hands!

TRICK-OR-TREATING...

We dressed up as the Flintstones, and it was pretty fun. If you asked Addi who she was for Halloween, she would say "Peddles". She had a blast trick-or-treating and somehow she knew exactly how it all worked. She was on a mission for CANDY!! We did get a family picture of us dressed up, but I looked freakishly huge and pregnant in my costume...and I'm not about to share it with the world!

MY PREGNANCY BRAIN MOMENT!

So the other day, Nate was such a sweetheart and suprised me with two dozen BEAUTIFUL roses. He had them sitting on our kitchen counter...waiting for me to come home from work. Now I am going to give you an example of what NOT to do next time your husband does the same...

I had done a lot of running around that day, and had a lot on my mind, and I had a little checklist in my head of everything I need to tell Nate when I got home. So, I walk in the door, and notice the crumbled cookie sitting on the counter(right next to the roses) that Addi had been eating. Then I set all of my stuff down, started going through the mail, and called Nate into the kitchen to tell him everything on my mind. After about 10 minutes, Nate goes and stands next the flowers, and says "Kim, don't you notice anything?" The first thing I did was look him up and down, thinking did he get a haircut, did he shave his goate? NO, NO.... then out of the corner of my eye, I see a huge arrangement of flowers! And then, the hormones kick in and I started crying immediately, telling him how sorry I am that I didn't notice them, and how embarrased I was. Can you believe I didn't notice them?! I am sure he was thinking.."I am never going to get flowers again!!" Poor guy!

Camping Trip

Over Labor Day we went camping up Payson Canyon. It was probably our last camping trip this year. I can't believe how fast summer flew! While we were camping we made a trip down the canyon to go to the first BYU game of the season. We decided to take Addi with us, and she had a blast! She was on the stands cheering away..dancing, clapping, and singing "go cougars!". It was a good game, other than the heat. Our seats were pretty much at the top, and with the sun reflecting off of the bleachers...well, basically we were almost cooking!!! Addi wore herself out, though, and this is her after the game...

we bought her a small fishing pole, so we decided to ride up to Payson Lakes to go fishing. I think she made her Dad really proud that day. When we first got there, she was having us cast her pole out into the lake, and she would reel it in. But it didn't take her long to figure out how to cast it herself. Before we knew it, she was casting her line out a good 20 yds or so. It really is so funny to watch her do it. I think it entertained her most of the time we were there. She loved to help reel in a fish, whenever anyone caught one...

She wanted NOTHING to do with the fish once they were out of the water. But by the time we got back to camp, she warmed up to them a little bit.

The Ultrasound!!

I know it has been FOREVER since I have posted anything. I am planning on posting some pictures very soon, but we just wanted to let everyone know that we had our ultrasound today and we are having another GIRL!! We are so excited for Addi to have a little sister. The great thing is that we have everything we need for this baby!! YEAH!

Pioneer Day Celebrations

We had a very busy weekend! For the first time in over a year, we were able to be with my whole family. It was so good to see everyone together again. On the 24th we went up to Mapleton canyon and spent the day relaxing, BBQ-ing and playing. On Friday we planned a BBQ at my Mom and Dad's and we put together a little mini carnival for the kids. WOW!! It was more work than I thought it was going to be. I was exhausted by the time it was done, but the kids had fun so it was worth it!
We also celebrated my Grandpa's B-day...Addi thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate FROSTING!!Searching for treasures....Bobbing for donuts...who says you can't use your hands?!Chocolate frosting/powdered sugar mustache and a sticky foot...what more could you ask for?

Grotto Trail

Addi seems to have a new love for waterfalls. Anytime she sees one on T.V or in a book she gets so excited! So we decided to hike to one. She is quite the little hiker! We just went on a short trail up Payson canyon, but it was fun and very pretty. I highly recommend it..especially if you have young kids. Nate, of course had to take the opportunity to take some landscaping pictures. Addi and I decided to get our feet wet and walked through the water. I didn't think we were going to get her to leave. The next morning she woke up and said "Let's go hiking!".

While we were on vacation....

We found out we are pregnant!! This is how we told our families. We were showing them pictures of our trip and then at the end we had Addi hold up these signs. It was really fun, because no one was expecting it! The baby is due Jan. 23rd. We are so excited!

Summer Vacation

This year for our summer vacation we went to San Diego. Neither of us had ever been, and we thought Addi would enjoy the Sea World experience. So, in May we took off for a week, and had a blast! We drove to Mesquite and stayed one night there, and we were SO glad it wasn't our vacation spot because it was a whoppin 115 degrees! YUCK!! We were ready to get out of there. When we finally arrived in San Diego, we have never felt so lost! I think it took us two hours of driving around the city, just looking for our hotel. And the whole time I had to listen to Nate say "I told you we should have bought a GPS nagivation system". Needless to say, neither of us were in the best of moods by the time we finally found our hotel! The next day, we went to Sea World. I think we had told Addi for a good month or two that we were going to go see Dolphins and Whales, and so by the time we were actually on our way, she was probably thinking, "yeah, right". The excitement in her little eyes was worth the wait. She loved it! She got to help Dad feed the dolphins (Dad did most of the feeding). Shamu was definetly her favorite thing. To this day she will come up to us and say "guess what? See Dolphins and Whales and Sharks!!!" The day we were at Sea World was the opening day of the Sesame Street Bay of Play area, where Addi was able to meet the characters of Sesame Street. She was a little nervous around cookie monster, especially after he tickled her face with all of that fur! We also went to the Zoo, and the Wild Animal Park. We went to the beach and Addi searched for sea shells. We were also able to go to the Temple and walked around the temple grounds. What a beautiful temple! I told Nate as we pulled into the temple parking lot how amazing it is when you are driving along on the freeway, and there are a million cars, how stressful life feels, and then the very second we pulled into the parking lot at the temple, a completely different feeling comes over you. It was such a great reminder of the peace that this Gospel gives you. We were so grateful to be able to take a family vacation. We had a great time, and were able to create some awesome memories, and share lots of laughs!!

Catching up!

We have finally joined the blogging world. It seems like we keep running into people who have asked us if we had a blog site. (I had never even looked at anyone's blog until maybe a few months ago!!) I was finally convinced as to how much fun it is..so here we go!!
